The Good News Story

Good News launched in September 2020 as part of Cresco Labs' portfolio of cannabis brands. While Cresco's flagship brand targets cannabis enthusiasts who care about strain specifics and extraction methods, Good News was built for a different audience: people who want cannabis to fit into social moments without requiring a deep dive into terpene profiles.

The concept: Instead of organizing products by strain (indica, sativa, hybrid), Good News organizes by occasion and mood. The names—Me Time, Brunch, Friyay, Vegas, Counting Sheep, Day Off—tell you exactly what the product is for without requiring cannabis knowledge.

Who's behind it: Cresco Labs is a Chicago-based multistate operator founded in 2013. They're one of the largest cannabis wholesalers in the United States, operating cultivation, processing, and retail across states including Illinois, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, Michigan, Ohio, Maryland, Arizona, and Florida. In Massachusetts, Cresco acquired Cultivate in 2021, gaining cultivation facilities and dispensaries that expanded their wholesale presence significantly.

Good News is part of Cresco's "House of Brands" alongside Cresco (premium flower and concentrates), High Supply (value products), Mindy's (chef-crafted edibles), Remedi (wellness-focused), and FloraCal Farms (California craft).

Cannabis concentrates range from 60% to over 90% THC, significantly higher than typical flower. Start small and gauge your tolerance.

Live resin uses hydrocarbon solvents and flash-frozen cannabis, resulting in high potency and terpene retention. Live rosin is solventless—pressed from ice-water hash using only heat and pressure—offering a cleaner flavor with slightly lower THC.

Hash oil (or distillate) is refined THC oil produced through CO₂ extraction and distillation. It offers high potency with neutral flavor, making it ideal for vape cartridges and discreet use.

THC wax refers to concentrates with a waxy texture, similar to sugar, badder, and crumble. They're made through post-processing techniques and typically test 70%–90% THC. Easy to handle and great for dabbing.

Inhaled concentrates take effect within seconds and last 1–3 hours. Oral consumption (like RSO) has a slower onset but can last 6–8 hours.

Store concentrates in airtight containers in a cool, dark place. This prevents degradation and preserves terpenes and potency.

Yes. Solid concentrates require dab rigs, nectar collectors, or e-nails for use. Hash oil works with vape pens and cartridges. Our budtenders can recommend the ideal setup for your chosen concentrate.
